Well, the song I want to share with you is called You Raise Me Up, which was presented by a band named Secret Garden. This song is a real classic and has been covered by heaps of singers, like Westlife.

I first heard this song when I was watching a TV program; it was the retirement ceremony for the F1 legend Michael Schumacher. The moment they played this song as background music, I knew it was a perfect fit in that kind of atmosphere to commemorate this iconic star.

Speaking of the singers, just as I mentioned, it was originally performed by Secret Garden and has been covered by more than 100 singers in the world in different versions and styles.

I am personally fond of this song for several reasons. Firstly, the music is really melodious and catchy. It mixes up different musical elements, such as the Irish ballad, bagpipes, violin, and piano, and Secret Garden’s resonant voice is a perfect complement to that music. Whenever this song is sung, I cannot help but sing along with it.

Besides, I find that the lyrics are totally and utterly encouraging and inspirational as it says: When I am down and weary, you raise me up, and I can stand on mountains. For me, sometimes, it is inevitable to come across all sorts of frustration and failure in life or just simply feel physically weak or mentally depressed. This song is like a wake-up call to me, and it can drag me out of the low points of life. After listening to it, I am able to cheer myself up since it gives me courage and confidence.

One more thing to add, this song was once covered by one of my most favorite bands, Westlife, which made it even more attractive and meaningful since I could appreciate both of them at the same time.
